Unlike artists who work with clean canvas, the architect always has a “background” for his work, whether it is a natural or urban landscape, the new building must interact with it so as not to be taken out of context. One of the main directions of the studio’s work is the design of private houses, so we often deal with the natural environment and consider the minimalist approach to be the best one in this situation. The minimalist approach with its narrow color palette and calm natural materials helps to point out such basic categories as: simple geometric shapes, neat composition, Importance of daylight and shadow, volumes and emptiness for a hose to become a part of the natural environment.
Definition and individuality. The house is a story about the owners. Zoning, type of planning, purpose of rooms, decoration, and many other details, these are all solutions that make up an entire picture of their daily lives. The design completely loses its meaning and individuality without a proper definition of client’s priorities, wishes and lifestyle. We thoroughly study habits of our clients to better understand the future «soul» of the house, with all premises and zones, their approximate areas and purpose. In the book “The Timeless Way of Building” the author claims that in our mind cities are connected with our brightest memories about them, and the same applies to housing – the main things are people, events and memories.
Minimalism, eclecticism, common sense. So, it is difficult to find a place for a particular style in a modern interior design studio. Of course, we can try to imagine design as an atlas, where finding the necessary page, you can find out what details will be able to assemble a project in a certain style. But it is only a tool of communication between the customer and the architect that can shed some light on the project. We should stick to the main idea, mixing styles and ways of interpretation always looking for the best solution for our client.
