Studio

The interior of the WA House project was largely determined by the owner’s hobbies, including collecting contemporary art. If the idea of the house was the permeability of its architecture and interaction with the environment, the interior had to fit canvases and sculptures, the number of which is constantly growing. The premises should be turned into exhibition spaces, but keep the atmosphere of comfort inherent in any home.

As a true exhibition space the studio has no bright colors, the main exhibit here is a sports car behind glass in the end of this wing. Porcelain is used on the floor and metal panels with various textures are used on the walls. An atrium is arranged above the dining area, tiles are hung on different levels, they are similar to the one that covers the ceiling above the kitchen area – another sculpture delicately connects the floors.

The project provides two kitchens: one is connected to the technical rooms and another is arranged as a separate area of the studio for having guests. The massive kitchen island is made of two materials: natural stone and veneered MDF; such a division carries out a conditional border between kitchen and dining zones. The ceiling in the living area is covered with a black frame, which slightly lowers its level and creates the illusion of floor-to-ceiling windows.

Plants play a special role in this project: from the environment, through the terraces and to the winter garden, they connect the exterior with the interior as a dot line. The semi-private winter garden separates the guest block from the studio with the stairs. This is the point where the environment and the interior converge: on the one side, the panoramic glazing overlooks the site, and on the other, there is vertical greening. This place is not isolated from the studio, the visual connection is disrupted, but not lost.

Guest bedroom

The self-contained guest unit with its own bathroom and wardrobe resonates with the studio due to the materials: thin rails on veneer panels on the walls turn into metal tracks on the ceiling. The horizontal rhythm is supported by full-height doors and window imposts, which also reach the ceiling.

Child's bedroom

Dark coloring was an important wish of the owners’ son. Contrary to expectations from this choice, the bedroom did not turn out gloomy or depressed. Due to graphite walls and dark curtains, it gives the impression of a chamber and introverted space – a place where you can carelessly immerse yourself in your own thoughts and dreams. The interior is varied with white and red patches, neon lights and graffiti on one of the walls, which creates a harmonious picture, where the accents do not distract, but emphasize the whole idea.

Child's bedroom

The composition of the second bedroom is gathered by a soft headboard, which marks the rest area. It parcels the wallpaper pattern, creating a vertical rhythm. The complex shape of the roof does not allow to bring the door to the ceiling, but the folds of heavy curtains and lamps suspended from the ceiling still remind of such geometry. Unlike the first bedroom, powder shades were chosen for this one.

Children's bathroom

In this project, bathrooms play the role of accents; only here, bright colors are the main, and do not serve as a complement. This is best seen in children’s bathroom, there are two types of tiles: orange and white with a shallow pattern, and black plumbing creates a contour for the whole picture.

Master bedroom

The interior of the master bedroom is built on the theme of monochrome with hints of mustard, along with textiles, these details make the room cozy and warm. The main focus here is lined with fabric multi-tiered panels behind the bed, which lead to the bathroom and wardrobe.

Master bathroom

The monochrome in the bathroom is played out differently, this interior turned out cold due to the predominant use of stone. Although due to different interpretations of the color scheme, the rooms make different impressions, they have in common a lot of natural light and the use of lighting, which has not only a functional significance, but emphasizes their geometry.
